Welcome to Triumph's Online Press Office

Triumph enjoyed another tremendous year in 2008, achieving record sales and scooping a plethora of awards and accolades.

It was the sensational new Street Triple that grabbed many of the headlines around the world. A genius feat of genetic engineering saw Triumph bring together performance DNA extracted from the Daytona 675 and the aggressive streetfighter styling drawn from the Speed Triple to create the most desirable naked middleweight motorcycle on the market. As the younger brother of the Speed Triple, the Street Triple became a welcome addition to Triumph’s streetfighter family. Proof of the pudding came with multiple comparison test victories and a demand that has outstripped supply. The Street Triple success story looks set to continue in 2009 thanks in no small part to the introduction of the new Street Triple R – a higher-specification version aimed at the discerning rider.

Also new for 2009 is an updated version of the groundbreaking Daytona 675. Undefeated as King of the Supersports in the annual Supertest awards, Triumph’s innovative triple has increased power and reduced weight for 2009, in addition to revised suspension and brakes for an even more engaging experience.

Triumph will also celebrate the 50th anniversary of its most iconic model in 2009. The first Bonneville model was introduced in 1959 and gained instant classic status thanks to its unparalleled combination of performance, looks and handling. Since its reintroduction for the 2001 model year, the Bonneville has continued to be one of Triumph’s most popular models. For 2009, the new Bonneville and Bonneville SE have been introduced. With sleek ‘70s styling, lighter handling and a lower seat height, the latest incarnations of this modern classic is the most accessible yet.

Looking to the future, Triumph has also announced its new 1600cc Thunderbird cruiser. Joining the 2010 model line-up, the Thunderbird looks set to play a starring role in an exciting new era for one of the most famous motorcycle manufacturers in the world.
