Protection Technology

All of our riding jackets and jeans are developed to fit CE approved protectors. Knox are our chosen supplier of CE protectors which are fitted as standard in the majority of our riding jackets or are available as an optional extra in limited styles.
Knox specialize in the design and manufacture of impact protection for use across a wide range of high risk sports including motorcycle riding. As the first company in the world to gain CE approval they are recognised as the brand leader in their field.
In-house testing facilities enable Knox to implement extensive research and development programs to ensure that their products are technically superior and that quality is consistent. Knox products are independantly tested and approved by an EC certified test house.
We use either the Knox Air or Knox Flexiform protector in our jackets (elbow and shoulder) and jeans (knee). Both perform to exacting standards. The Knox Air is a hard cupped armour that is used in some of our sports styles while Flexiform is used in our classic, cruiser and ladies styles as well as some of our sports garments. Flexiform protectors are made from a soft compound which reduces garment weight and improves comfort but offer the protection required when necessary. Jackets like the Kalahari use an extended Flexiform protector with additional protection for the forearm as well as elbow and shoulder.
New for AW11 we are also going to include a Knox CE Back Protector in a selection of styles, such as Harrier and Spitfire. This protector is made from a 3 layer construction with a unique polypropylene honeycomb inner core. It is lightweight (only adding 120g to a jacket) and fits in to all jacket styles.
