Waterproof Technology
All waterproof garments are subjected to stringent test methods to ensure they keep the rain at bay. Membrane technology offers high levels of waterproofing whilst also being very breathable.
Our waterproof garments, such as the Garrett Jacket, use a TriTex Waterproof membrane that offers high levels of waterproof performance and breathability.
Garments are constructed using a Z-Liner which means that the waterproof membrane is placed between the outershell and the inner lining. This forms a barrier against water moving through to the garment and on to the rider. The outershell will be treated with a water repellent coating to prevent water soaking in to the fabric.
The membrane will keep water out but is also very breathable so it keeps the rider dry and comfortable.
In addition to the membrane technology, we also do additional work with the construction of our pockets, cuff areas and jacket heams to prevent water ingress and maintain high levels of performance. All of our cuff and hem inner areas use an anti-wicking material to prevent water soaking in to the linings. Open the pockets and if you see a 'Waterproof' tab then you know the pocket has been constructed to keep the contents inside dry.
