FAQs
We love talking about Triumph bikes, clothing and accessories. And Triumph riders are never short of questions about their favorite brand.
So, we thought we'd pick the ten most often asked and list them here:
When was Triumph formed?
Triumph was formed as a bicycle manufacturing company by Siegfried Bettmann in Coventry in 1887. The first motorcycle was built in 1902. The rest is history…
Who owns Triumph today?
Triumph Motorcycles Limited is a 100% privately owned company. Our parent company is called Bloor Holdings Limited, which is owned by John Bloor.
Where are Triumph’s factories based?
Triumph has five world class factories around the world, all 100% owned by our company. Two of these factories are based in Hinckley in the UK, the other three are in Chonburi, Thailand.
Can I visit the Triumph factory?
At certain times of year we offer a very limited number of factory tours of our Factory Two facility in Hinckley. These must be booked in advance. Prior to their availability, all dates will be advertised on this website and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer factory tours for large groups or on dates other than those advertised. Please do not turn up unannounced at our factories as there are no public facilities and entry will not be granted.
How long does it take to develop a new Triumph motorcycle?
It can vary from model to model, but typically the design and development of a new Triumph takes around three years from concept to delivery.
Does Triumph export its products?
Absolutely! We have around 750 dealers in 35 countries. Around 80% of our product is sold outside of the UK.
I have a problem with my Triumph. Who do I contact?
In the first instance you should contact your local Triumph dealer. They are best equipped to resolve any problems.
What new models are coming out in the future?
We have big plans to expand our range in the coming years and these are exciting times at Triumph. Unfortunately we cannot disclose details of exact models but stay tuned, we’re sure you’ll love what we’ve got planned!
