MCN Award the Daytona 675 "Sportsbike of the Year 2009"
Wednesday, May 27, 2009

In a comprehensive test which covered Over 2000 miles in 3 days, the Daytona 675 was pitted against MCN's other sports bike category winners, the Yamaha R1, Aprilia RSV4 Factory and KTM RC8R.
Despite the cold weather, the bikes were put through their paces on the toughest road test environment in the world to enable the test riders to experience all of the contenders in a mutlitude of conditions from around town to mountain climbs and of course four laps of the 37.73 mile TT course.
Triumph’s three-cylinder Daytona 675 broke new ground when it was introduced to critical acclaim in 2006. The bike is also a proven winner on the race track, with national championship titles in France, Germany and the UK, as well as several top six finishes in the world series. And now to prove that the 675 can hold it's own amongst the litre engine sports bikes, MCN have awarded this daring Daytona 'Sportsbike of the Year 2009'!
This latest award comes hot on the heels of an unprecedented fourth consecutive Supersport category win at Supertest, a collaboration of some of the leading worldwide motorcycle magazines.
Summing up MCN said “The Triumph Daytona charmed us with its mix of real-world ability, brilliant chassis, characterful engine and slick looks. The Triumph is the bike our testers would actually buy. In that regards it’s a deserving victor and so take the title of MCN sports bike of the year”
And to top it all, Triumph's latest release, the stunning Daytona 675 Special Edition has now made the best even better.
