ROCKET III & ROCKET III CLASSIC - SAFETY RECALL (19.09.07)
Triumph has identified a potential problem with the latest tune for the fuel injection system on the Rocket III and Rocket III Classic. There is a small risk that the engine may stall when returning to idle. Rider safety is of paramount importance to Triumph so despite the extremely low risk of this occurring, the company has decided to recall all Rocket IIIs and Rocket III Classics as a precautionary measure.
Owners of machines are being notified directly by mail, however anyone who wishes to confirm whether their machine is affected is asked to contact their local dealer or use the VIN Enquiry option contained within the Technical section of Triumph’s website. The recall applies to all Rocket IIIs and Rocket III Classics up to VIN 328979.
Although the Rocket III and Rocket III Classic is safe to ride in the meantime, owners are advised to make early arrangements to have the revised tune downloaded to their bike. All authorised Triumph dealers have been briefed of the recall and already have the new software available for immediate download.
