Triumph Triple Challenge Set For Oulton Thriller
Tuesday, August 12, 2008

The Michelin Young Guns crown, with a prize of a test on the Triumph World Super Stock bike up for grabs, is still available to over half a dozen riders. Isle of Man rider Mark Cringle still holds a slight lead at the top of the points table but youngster Josh Wainwright has been closing the gap over the last three rounds and is just a couple of good results away from taking him off the top spot.
Just behind them, Scott Rowbottom has moved into third place after two brilliant meetings at Cadwell Park and Brands Hatch. He will be keen to keep his charge for the title going around the twists of Oulton.
Behind the top three, Lance Carey, Reece Rothwell and Tim Venables have all taken race victories so far this season and are all still in with a chance of snatching the crown away should the guys in front of them have problems.
In the TDG Cup, Jack Sim is holding station at the top of the points table. Jack and Mark Cheetham have taken almost every win in the class so far this season. However, Brazilian Rhalf Lo Turco finally broke their strangle hold on the top step of the podium with two incredible victories at Cadwell Park in June and is keeping himself just in reach of the leading pair with consistent podium finishes.
Last years champion, Ricky Chadwick has struggled in the early part of the season. However, he should be one to look out for as he is keen to notch up his first victory of the season.
The riders will take to the track on Friday morning for free practice before the two qualifying sessions get underway later in the day. The two points scoring races will take place on Saturday.
