MKW Suspension Make a Mark
Monday, May 12, 2008
Marcus Wade has been enjoying an exciting and dramatic weekend at the New Era Superclub round at the Anglesey circuit.
Saturday Races
SOT
Race 1 - Due to the incident in the F600 qualifying Marcus had to start from the pit lane on cold tyres and without a warm up lap (or testing the bike after the quick fix). He was released after all of the 40 rivals passed the first corner. By the end of lap 3 he was the top SOT runner having passed around 30 bikes. He then settled behind a Pro bike battle knowing I could pass them, but also knowing there was no need to get involved I just needed to bring it home for a victory.

Race 2 - This time Marcus set off from his pole position and kept a good pace all race, again winning the SOT race and following 3 pro bikes home.

F600
Race 1 & 2 – Marcus set off from pole position; he got a good start and was in 2nd. As he turned into the final corner on the track (a left hander of which there were few) lining the leader up for a pass into the next corner the front tucked and I headed for the grass. In the second F600 race Marcus made a small error on entry to a corner to make his exit tighter, it was unnoticed by Marcus at the time, as he hit the gas hard it spun the rear tyre up. Unfortunately he was tipped off the bike once more.
Result - DNF
Sunday Races
SOT - From the start I lead briefly and then followed 2 Pro bikes after the long straight. Into the hairpin I was rear ended by an over enthusiastic rider, I was lucky this time and he flipped over my head and his bike hit my front wheel but I stayed upright whilst his bike slid past me and skittled the leading pro bike. The safety car came out and we spent 4 laps behind it in blistering heat, not going quick enough to cool the bike sufficiently. After another Safety Car the race was eventually ended by a red flag leaving me with a victory.
Result - 1st
The next round is BSS at Donnington Park on the 24th to 26th of May.
