Triumph-SC at Monza
Monday, May 12, 2008

The race lasted just a few metres at Monza for the pair of Triumph-SC riders Garry McCoy and Ruggero Scambia: both the riders of the Daytona triples were thrown down in the gravel during the first lap amid confusion in the first chicane after a quite good start. The morning’s warm up session showed that the team were improving well; it was just unbelievable misfortune that prevented a good final result.
Garry McCoy related what happened: “When the red light switched off I got a perfect start and I immediately earned several positions, but at the entrance to the first chicane in front of me they was some confusion and someone took away my front wheel and I crashed into the escape lane.”
Ruggero Scambia is deeply disappointed with his debut: “At the start I threw myself inside the pack grabbing immediately at a middle group position, somebody touched my front wheel and I crashed.”
