ROCKET III WINNER
Ride a Rocket/Win a Rocket WINNER! Long time Triumph owner, Greg Rust, just happened to drop in and visit his local dealership, Champion Cycles last June. When the dealership offered him a free test ride on a Rocket III he thought, “Why not go for a spin” Imagine his surprise when he was informed that he was the winner of a Rocket III of his choice! As a matter of fact, Greg thought the call was a prank, “I thought that my buddy was playing a trick on me. It’s the kind of thing I would expect from him.” Greg selected a 2007 Graphite/Eclipse Blue Rocket III Classic Tourer as his chosen prize and picked it up this past December at Champion Cycles. Greg took the time to chat with us about his exciting experience. Check out the pictures, and what Greg had to say: 1. How did you hear about the promotion? – Was in visiting Howard at Champion Cycle for an oil change, and he tossed me the keys to the Rocket III. He convinced me to take a ride while I was waiting for my service to be completed.
2. How quickly did you get into the show room? – I didn’t even know the promotion was going on until Howard gave me the entry form to fill out after my ride. Howard told me to make sure I filled it out and sent it in. I put it in my pocket, and when I got home I started paying bills, remembered the entry form, filled it out and sent it in.
3. Why did you pick that particular shop? – This is my local shop! I had also purchased my Daytona 955i from Howard back in December of 2004. This is where I get my service done on my triumph.
4. What did you like best about the demo ride? – The power and torque were amazing!!!
5. How long have you been riding? – Forty years! Since I was fifteen.
6. What was your first bike? – Honda CL90
7. Have you ever owned a Triumph before? – No! My son had purchased a ’04 Sprint RS to ride to and from college.
8. Did you own a Triumph before you won your new Rocket? – Yes!
9. What was your first Triumph? - 2004 Daytona 955i.
10. Why did you pick blue/grey? – It was different! There aren’t a lot of bike out there with this color combination.
11. Why did you pick the Rocket III Tourer? – My wife likes to ride. We enjoy taking trips.
12. Where do you think you’ll go first on your new bike? – Probably a trip to Leavenworth in Easter Washington this spring.
13. Is your wife as excited as you? – Yes! We were both stunned.
14. What were your first thoughts when you found out you won? – I thought that my buddy was playing a trick on me. It’s the kind of thing I would expect from him.
15. How long did it take to sink in? – Not long! As soon as I got the paperwork from the sweepstakes company, I knew it was real.
