Team S-Works and Dane Westby Finish in the TOP 10 at Road Atlanta
Wednesday, September 3, 2008

Triumph would like to congratulate Team S-Works and Dane Westby on their TOP 10 finish in the AMA Formula Extreme series. The race was held this past Saturday at the Road Atlanta Raceway in Braselton, Georgia.
Team manager Bob Robbins offered Dane the ride on Thursday morning, just hours before the first practice session started. Filling in for injured rider Shane Narbonne, Dane immediately felt comfortable on the bike. Almost from the first lap, Dane began decreasing his lap times, getting faster and faster as he circuited the twisting road course. The 675 three cylinder was a perfect platform for Road Atlanta where the superb midrange torque allowed Dane to rocket off of corners.
Dane’s weekend on the Triumph Daytona 675 was only his second weekend ever competing at the AMA Pro level. Dane qualified in tenth position on Friday afternoon, only his second day ever riding the bike. On Saturday, he finished a strong tenth, well ahead of any challengers. And with another lap, he himself was pushing hard and rapidly closing on ninth place.
Post race, Dane could only exclaim, “I’m actually kinda sad that I won’t get a chance to ride the Triumph again.” And to that we say, “Never say Never…”Special thanks go to Tryg Westby, Dane’s father, for a weekend of support and positive energy. Dane and Tryg hail from Tulsa, Oklahoma.
